Annual Report 2024-2025

Distinguished Guests, Dear Parents, Well-wishers, Friends, My Esteemed Colleagues, and Beloved Students,

It is with immense pride and joy that I present the 19th Annual Report of Thunchan Smaraka Public School for the academic year 2024-25. This year has been a remarkable journey, reaffirming our belief that success is not an overnight achievement but a result of dedication, perseverance, and collective effort. Every milestone we reached, every challenge we overcame, and every triumph we celebrated stands as a testament to our unwavering commitment to excellence.

At Thunchan Smaraka Public School, we have always envisioned education as a holistic process—one that nurtures intellect, builds character, and fosters creativity. This year, our students and teachers have once again exemplified the spirit of hard work, determination, and innovation. As we reflect on our achievements and initiatives, we take immense gratification in knowing that we have remained true to our vision, constantly pushing the boundaries of excellence and empowering our students to go beyond their potential.

The academic year 2024-25 commenced with the reopening ceremony, "Initiam," inaugurated by Sri Jayakumaran, President of ENA. The school started an year filled with academic excellence, cultural celebrations, and extracurricular activities, shaping a dynamic and holistic learning environment for students.

To support this vision, the school management undertook commendable infrastructure upgrades, including ground interlocking, the construction of new gates, and the development of well-paved roads and walkways. These enhancements were aimed at creating a safer, more accessible, and student-friendly environment, and I extend my sincere gratitude to the management members for their support.

Academic progress was closely monitored through structured examinations and assessments. Mid-term examinations were conducted for Classes X and XII, while students from LKG to IX had Pre-Mid Term and Post-Mid Term examinations at different intervals. The school successfully conducted the SAFAL (CBSE Competency-Based Assessment) for Classes VI and IX and introduced MCQ-based learning assessments to enhance conceptual understanding. These evaluations ensured continuous progress and helped students develop a strong academic foundation. Our unwavering commitment to excellence drives us to achieve outstanding results for our Class X and XII students.

Extracurricular activities were given great importance, and our students actively participated in various inter-school competitions, excelling in roller skating and karate. Scholarship exams such as PCM and KINFER were also conducted, providing students with opportunities to challenge themselves academically.

The kindergarten section played a significant role in fostering creativity, cultural awareness, and emotional growth. Special events such as Earth Day, Balloon Day, Rainbow Day, Snow Day, and Mango Day created joyful shared experiences, strengthening the bond between students and teachers.

Student leadership was strengthened through the School Parliamentary Elections, where Akshay was elected as Head Boy and Karthika Vasanthakumar as Head Girl. Prefects and other student leaders were also appointed, ensuring student involvement in school activities. The School Arts Festival, "Umang 2K24," provided a platform for students to showcase their artistic talents, while the Literary Fest encouraged their literary pursuits. We extend our sincere gratitude to Smt. Sudha Harikumar, General Secretary, ENA, for her unwavering support in these initiatives. The Annual Sports Meet, "Athens Pride," encouraged athletic excellence, with students actively participating in various events.

Several awareness campaigns and special events enriched our students' learning experiences. Anti-Drug Day promoted awareness about a drug-free lifestyle, while "Chandrayaan Utsav" educated students on India's space achievements. The National Education Policy (NEP) Celebrations – "Shiksha Saptah" provided insights into educational reforms. A Health Awareness Session at Perumkadavila Health Center emphasized the importance of well-being.

Teachers also enhanced their skills through CBSE Capacity Building Programs and Burlington English classes, ensuring professional growth and improved teaching methodologies.

Beyond academics, students had opportunities for experiential learning. A school tour to Wonderla, Kochi, provided an exciting and refreshing break, while younger students enjoyed visits to Kaveri Elephant Park and Kovalam. Such excursions play a crucial role in broadening students' perspectives and enhancing their learning experience outside the classroom.

Parental engagement was actively encouraged through the Open House, fostering meaningful interactions between parents and teachers. We firmly believe that parents and teachers are co-educators in a child’s learning journey. Our dedicated PTA, led by President Shri. Satheesh Chandran, has been instrumental in ensuring the holistic development of our students.

Cultural and co-curricular activities played a vital role throughout the year. The importance of holistic well-being was highlighted on International Yoga Day, where students participated in yoga demonstrations. Major celebrations such as Independence Day, Onam, Children's Day, Gandhi Jayanti, and Kerala Piravi were observed with true spirit and devotion, fostering a sense of unity and cultural pride among students.

The school also actively participated in community-based events. Our teachers showcased their musical talents through a group song performance at "Vanitha Junction," an event organized by the Peringadavila Panchayat. Students also represented the school in a Quiz Competition at Christ Nagar College, Maranalloor, where they demonstrated their intellectual capabilities.

As we look back on this year’s journey, one thing stands out—our collective spirit of perseverance. "Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice, and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do," said the legendary footballer Pelé. His words perfectly resonate with the determination and passion that have driven our students and teachers to excel.

As we conclude this academic year, I express my heartfelt gratitude to the Almighty for the pleasant atmosphere we enjoy at Thunchan Smaraka Public School. I bow my head in respect to the loving memory of T.G. Harikumar Sir. I extend my sincere thanks to Smt. Sudha Harikumar (General Secretary, ENA), Shri. Jayakumar (President, ENA), Omana Kumari Teacher (Academic Coordinator), Shri. Ravindranath (Treasurer, ENA), and Shri. Shaiju S. Dharan (Principal, ECPS) for their unwavering support and encouragement. I am also deeply grateful to our esteemed guest of the day for gracing this occasion and making this evening truly special.

Lastly, I salute our dedicated teachers, staff, and supporting staff, whose invaluable efforts and cooperation make everything possible at Thunchan Smaraka Public School. As we move forward, let us continue striving together for a brighter and better tomorrow.

Thank You.
